“Heads.”

The curtain rose, showing two men: one flipping a coin, the other taking bets on the outcome.

“Heads.”

Neville leant over to whisper into Bill’s ear, “This is ridiculous – what kind of play have you brought me to?”

“Heads.”

Bill shifted in his seat so that he could respond without being too disrupted. “Actually, it’s an absurdist play – not ridiculous at all.” He winked at Neville and returned his attention to the stage.

“Heads.”

“How long does this go on?” Neville murmured.

“Heads.”

“He wins ninety-two times,” was Bill’s low response.

“Heads.”

Neville sat back in his seat with a sigh, just as drum beats began to play off-stage.
