snarry_fan7, who asked for Bill/Neville, ‘safe’. Sorry it took so long!
Neville Longbottom-Weasley sat at his kitchen table, nervously drumming his fingers on the scarred tabletop. His husband, Bill, was due home from a trip to Afghanistan for Gringott’s. Their last Floo conversation had been interrupted, and Neville hadn’t been able to contact Bill since. A glance at the kitchen clock showed Bill’s hand was stuck somewhere between ‘safe’ and ‘mortal peril’.
Neville stood and began straightening the crockery on the shelf over the sink. It didn’t matter that he’d already done that once that afternoon – the repetitive task calmed him. Just then, the Floo flared, and out tumbled his wayward husband. Neville dropped the teacup he’d been about to move - a millimetre to the left - into the sink.
“You’re home!”
Neville rushed to greet Bill, who dropped his dusty satchel on the stone floor and opened his arms to embrace his husband. The clock chimed softly as Bill’s hand finally moved to ‘safe’.
