My taste in fic...
I've seen lots of these around... here's my "list", which has evolved somewhat over the past several months as I am reading more different authors.
Pairings
Slash: Snape/Harry (OTP), Bill/Neville, Charlie/Neville, Draco/Neville, Charlie/Kingsley, Snape/Kingsley, Snape/Bill, Charlie/Draco, and Kirk/McCoy (Star Trek Reboot).
Het: Snape/Hermione, Harry/Luna, Snape/Tonks (hmm, there was no het the last time I looked at this list!)
Threesome: Snape/Draco/Harry (OT3), Remus/Bill/Neville, Bill/Neville/Harry
Gen is also fine, if accompanied by an excellent plot, particularly one that fills in missing bits of canon, or focuses on Severus Snape, period.
Kinks
I like fics featuring an older Harry - as a Hogwarts professor, wandmaker, broomstick maker, etc. Auror is okay, too, but seems kind of cliche to me.
Humour & fluff are good, when well done.
Hurt/Comfort is fine, too, and angst in small doses.
First time is preferable over established relationship - I especially love a well-written first kiss ... desperate, up against the wall, with or without frottage. I also enjoy Parselmouth!Harry fics.
Happy endings preferred.
Forced bonding and pederasty are relatively new additions to this list.
Squicks
I'm not big on chan (16+ is preferred, older is better). Mpreg isn't a squick so much as a WTF? for me - I don't see the point. Apparently, though, that hasn't stopped me from writing it... Non-con, rape, torture and dark fics in general - I'd rather read something happier. (Sad is okay, too, especially if we're dealing with DH-compliant fics showing Harry dealing with Snape's death, for example). Incest in any form - sibs or cross-gen. Femmeslash doesn't interest me at all, and if it's a threesome, I find I prefer them all to be male (though I did read a Draco/Harry/Hermione that I enjoyed).
Non-sexual bodiliy fluids - blood play, water sports, etc. Necrophilia
