AARGH! I've been so busy, with work stuff, and trying to write, and woodbadge trainings... I haven't posted or anything in ages.

A couple of things:

1. If you're interested in a holiday drabble, comment here with a pairing/prompt and I'll see what my muse gets up to. Leave your address (comments will be screened) and I'll print it out & send it to you in addition to actually posting them here.


2. fall_fantasia has finished posting. The master list goes up next week... if you can guess my contribution, I'll write you a drabble. You should check out the stories... I've read most of them, and have enjoyed them all.

A Series of Unfortunate Misunderstandings

It is a lovely first time story, with Charlie's impulsiveness and a tendency to jump to conclusions leading down a lovely, if incorrect, garden path. Go, read it, and give the mystery author some love!

I have, um, two weeks to write my fall_fantasia fic... and what I have so far is just over drabble-sized... *sigh*

Then... severus_shorts must command my attention. Luckily for me, they can both be short, which is my specialty - no big, sweeping epics for me.

I have hardly been around IJ these days... if you've written something you think I'd like, please link me to it. I'd have to go back a couple hundred posts to catch up, at this rate.

Posting begins November 1st.

Fests are shiny! I'm going to be a busy girl for the next couple of months:

• fall_fantasia , due Oct 19 - not assigned a giftee yet
• severus_shorts , due Oct 31 - I have a pairing and a very vague plot bunny for this one
• harry_holidays, due Nov 20 - if I am accepted, since I am a returning participant I get the later date
• charlieficathon (on LJ), due Jan 1st - I have a giftee, and I think I've been well-matched, so I shouldn't have any trouble writing it. 
  

Damn... how did I manage to sign up for 4 fests? 

Ok, everyone... came home from a camping weekend this afternoon (with minimal bug bites & minor sunburn... wish I had Severus here to brew me a potion for it) and while I try to catch up on three days' worth of flist, I thought I'd make you all an offer...

If you can guess my submission to the Weasley Fest, I'll write you a drabble or teenyfic, whichever the muse deems you deserve. =)

The master list is being posted Saturday, August 8th, so any guesses received before then (Friday, August 7th, I guess) will be eligible.

Man, I really need to get me a Charlie/Kingsley icon...

• Also... regarding the 30 Days of Neville... now that it's summer, I have time to write, which is good, considering I have to post my own contribution to 30 Days on the 27th. If you haven't already filled out my poll looking for inspiration, please do so. Thanks!

Now I can take credit for the story I wrote for treewishes, To Boldly Go Where No Wizard Has Gone Before, a crossover between HP and Star Trek: The Next Generation. I will be reposting it here soon.

I can also thank westwardlee for my gift, The Gay Fathers Club, an epilogue-compliant Harry/Draco story.

In addition to harry_holidays... which hasn't posted the reveals yet, I participated in 3fan_holidays. I had a lot of fun, and now that the reveals are up I can post my story, Not So Predictable, which I wrote for juniperus:

( Not So Predictable )

If you haven't already been watching 3fan_holidays, you should. My gift was the second one posted (yay!) and it is in the Narnia fandom, featuring Edmund & Prince Caspian.

It's called a kiss before growing up and it's sweet & poignant and just a little bit slashy.

The one fest I signed up for this holiday season - initially - was harry_holidays. Imagine my surprise when my gift fic was the first one posted!

It's called The Gay Fathers' Club, and it shows Harry's journey of discovery and a building relationship with Draco. It is a sad story at some points, and while Albus & Scorpius are friends, they are both decidedly straight, which is refreshing for an epilogue-compliant H/D story.

Go, read it, and give the mystery author some love.

I took the plunge... and joined my first exchange fest, fall_fantasia. It starts next weekend ... check it out!

I'm a couple of days late on this ... but on August 7, 2007 I created this IJ.

I'd only just started a more active participation in HP-fandom (my LJ of the same name was created March 18, 2007), beta-reading for the_con_cept, lesyeuxverts and others, and had written my very first drabble when the strikethrough nonsense had started at LJ.

Since then, I've made lots of friends here. *snuggles flist*

I've also become more confident about my writing, and have inched up from 100-word drabbles and teenyfics to my latest creation which comes in over 3000 words. I know it doesn't compare to those of you who write novel-length fics regularly, but I'm taking baby-steps here.

Looking forward to fall_fantasia, phoenix_flies, bbtp_challenge, snarry_holidays and harry_holidays (which I've actually signed up for. Ack! Another exchange!!)

Here's to another year of IJ awesomeness! And, since I finished my fall_fantasia fic early... I'm offering drabbles to the first three people who prompt me. As usual, HP only, please, and a one-word prompt.

ETA: All drabble spots have been taken. I will post them as they are written - hopefully before the end of the week, when I head off to Virginia for vacation.

A week off work is apparently good for my to-do list...

phoenix_flies due March 15th (500 words minimum ... for a drabbler, that can be a lot of writing!)

ides_of_march due March 15th (at least that can be a bunch of drabbles... which may or may not be the easiest assignment)

hp_wankfest due April 16th (my issue here? it has to be at least R rated...)

So many on my flist have made it into the H/D World Cup, that I don't know which team to support... so I guess I'm supporting all of you!

Someone's posted a story in phoenix_flies for the same prompt I'm signed up for.

I want to read it, but I don't want to read it. You know?

I've started my fic - barely, as I'm still under 100 words - but now I don't want to read someone else's version & end up either freaking out because mine could never be that good, or worried that my idea is too much like that fic, or, or, or!

OMG ... I was away for the weekend, and now I have a gajillion more friends, again. Well, not quite a gajillion, but I'm definitely way past what I had over at that other journal.
